Charlotte and Adaro looked at each other with recognition. “Quadratic combination!” She repeated. “That means in order to unlock the key’s location, we must complete a combination of four matching tiles!” She was thrilled that she had found these facts out, and was giddy with elation. But then her heart dropped again. “Oh dear Adaro. How are we supposed to complete the amalgamation if we can only pressure three? It’s only you, me and the boulder!”
Adaro hummed in judgement. He, for once, had no clue about the situation, and was quite puzzled. So they paused in their tracks and began to think again. After a moments silence, and a moments reflection, Charlotte thought she had come up with a solution. “Twister! That’s it!”

Adaro, having never heard of such a game, looked at Charlotte in misunderstanding. But Charlotte was too worked up in her discovery to explain to Adaro. “I’ll explain later” she said quickly. Then, reaching out with her hand towards a green tile near the one she was standing on, pressed it in the same way she had done with her feet to the previous tile. It glowed, and now all four tiles were gleaming a soft emerald. “It’s working!” Charlotte squealed in delight. The glows of each tile began to waft around the room, in a magical sort of way, until they combined to form one big light in the centre of the room. Then, out of nowhere, appeared the key they had been trying to locate. The radiance of the tiles made it seem like the key was glowing, which made the whole experience a little more magical. Charlotte stared in wonder at the floating key, and then reached out to grab it. There was nothing to stop her from getting the key, which meant they had officially solved the puzzle. With one swift hand movement, Charlotte swiped the key from the light and held it triumphantly in her hand. But, as soon as the key had been seized, all of the light faded from the room and returned the area to its previous state. Now the room looked untouched, as if nothing had ever happened.

Charlotte took a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief and joy. Adaro was pleased to see his young mistress doing so well in the quest. However, he remembered he had an unanswered question. “Charlotte, would you kindly explain what ‘Twister’ is?”
She was happy to elucidate that Twister was just a party game that children and adults would play, and it worked in a similar way to the puzzle room. Of course she noted the differences, and soon Adaro developed a full understanding of the party amusement.

After the clarification, Charlotte and Adaro headed towards the door opposite them. Charlotte slid the key into the lock, and turned it until the door clicked open. “I wonder what else this castle has to offer” she said as she opened the door.
